Washington, D.C. – This morning, U.S. Senator Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) released the following statement after the U.S. Senate unanimously agreed to pass the House bill requiring the Department of Justice to release all documents and records relating to Jeffrey Epstein.
As soon as the Senate receives the Epstein files bill from the U.S. House of Representatives, no further action is needed. The bill will be sent to President Donald J. Trump’s desk for signature.
“My position has been the same since day one: I support the release of the Epstein files, the victims deserve protection, and DC liberals are using the Epstein case as a political football to ‘get Trump’ after four years of doing nothing about it,” said Senator Mullin. “Regardless of the Democrats’ baseless attacks, this bill is a key step towards providing justice to the Epstein victims and transparency to the American people. It’s time to move forward and work with President Trump to keep delivering low taxes, strong borders, and affordable living for Oklahoma families.”
Background:
Earlier this year, Senator Mullin introduced a resolution calling on federal and state courts to immediately unseal all materials related to any criminal investigation or prosecution of Jeffrey Epstein or Ms. Ghislaine Maxwell—subject only to redactions to protect victims.
Yesterday afternoon, in an interview on Fox News, the Senator called out U.S. Virgin Islands Democrat Representative Stacey Plaskett who was recently caught colluding with convicted child sex predator Jeffrey Epstein in a 2019 congressional hearing.
