I appreciate your interest in the Senate Page program! There are four established page sessions. The academic year consists of two semesters, which run from early September through mid-January in the fall and from mid-January through mid-June in the spring. The summer program consists of two sessions, which are three or four weeks in duration, depending on the legislative calendar.
Responsibilities
Page responsibilities will vary. Typical responsibilities include:
- Delivering correspondence and legislative material within the Capitol and Senate office buildings
- Preparing the Chamber for Senate sessions
- Working on the Senate floor where they provide assistance during roll call votes, support senators and staff during debates, and carry bills and amendments to the desk
Accomplishments
As a result, pages learn about the legislative process and the many other functions of the Senate chamber.
